Pear - Nashi Pear 'Kosui'
Introduced by the Japanese last century, the Nashi blends an apple-like texture with the taste of a pear. As with most things out of Japan, the tree is a neat specimen with a symmetrical habit. Best eaten fresh when tree ripened but can be used for juice when the crop is too heavy to consume. Self-fertile, although Williams or Beurre Bosc increase pollination.
