Olive 'Coratina'
Famed for its versatility, this Italian variety is high in bioactive phenolic compounds and is the variety used in the production of extra virgin olive oil and also a great table olive. Olea 'Coratina' will thrive in a wide range of Australian conditions and produces an excellent yield in most climates. Coratina's beautiful, fast growing, evergreen silver foliage clips well making it ideal for topiary, hedges or espalier.
How to grow
Growing in a wide range of Australian conditions, olives are tolerant of poor soils, but grow best in a well-prepared fertile soil. Fertilise in spring and summer.
