Olive 'Arbequina'
This compact Spanish olive comes from the Catalonian region surrounding Barcelona where it was recorded as early as the 18th Century. A self-pollinating variety producing an abundance of fruit suitable for the table or oil press. Olea 'Arbequina' matures quickly, providing a high yield of small rounded fruit that gradually ripen to black.
Growing in a wide range of Australian conditions, olives are tolerant of poor soils, but grow best in a well-drained fertile soil. Fertilise in spring and summer and water during flowering and fruit set if required.
