Kiwiberry 'Mt Tomah Green'
A green fruiting hairless kiwiberry sourced from Roy Menzies at the Bathurst Research station in NSW. This is a female cultivar originating from seed that was brought to the Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens direct from China. Grow in a protected spot on an east-facing wall or trellis so it is sheltered from the hot, westerly summer sun. Needs a `Hayward' male for pollination.
This is a female cultivar which needs a `Hayward' male for pollination. Prefers a warm position with protection from frost and wind. Is tolerant of a range of soil pH but neutral is ideal in a well drained spot . Enrich soil with organic matter and complete fertiliser prior to planting. Grow in a protected spot on an east-facing wall or trellis so it is sheltered from the hot, westerly summer sun. Supplementary water in hot conditions and during fruit production. Provide a sturdy framework for this vigorous fast growing twining climber.
