Geranium Incanum
A wonderful spreading, ground-hugging geranium suitable for use as a living mulch, happily smothering weeds while flowering in abundance. Fine soft divided and aromatic foliage is adorned with up to six months of fine purple flowers. Plant along garden edges and borders where plants can comfortably spill onto paths, over rock walls or trailling from containers. Prune lightly in summer to extend flowering. A herbaceous perennial, plants re-emerge from the soil each spring.
How to grow
Full sun, copes with light shade though less compact and floriferous. Enjoys free-draining , sandy soil. Thrives in hot, dry conditions, including coastal positions. Trim after each flowering flush and cut back hard every second year to keep clumps tidy.
