Hardy garden perennials, improve soil to a depth of at least 30cm before planting. Well-drained soil is essential, especially in areas with wet winter - if in doubt, plant in raised beds. Divide every 3-4 years to maintain healthy vigorous growth and prolific flowering. Prune back after flowering in late autumn.
