Plant in a sunny position, sheltered from wind, in free-draining, humus fertile soil. deadhead spent flowers to keep the new ones coming. Dies down to dormant underground tubers in the winter. In heavy clay soils, dormant tubers may need to be lifted and stored for replanting in late spring once the risk of frost has passed.
