RHS awarded Crocosmia forming erect clumps for foliage accent, with showy sprays of colour in late summer and autumn. Unusual bronze-green sword shaped leaves offer a gentle contrast to the bright apricot-yellow trumpet shaped blooms. An excellent sunny or part shaded garden or potted plant and long lasting cut flower. Best planted in clumps for impact. Multiplies easily as it’s a set and forget corm.
Prefers full sun or part shade, in moderately fertile soil that is moist but free-draining . Plant in clumps of 12 or more for impact. Tolerates heat, humidity and salt once established but benefits from supplementary watering in dry periods and protection from cold, drying winds. Multiplies rapidly in favourable conditions. Deadhead flower stalks at leaf junction to promote repeat flowering. Leave foliage to die down naturally after flowering and cut back to ground level in winter when fully withered.
