Your workshop

Gardening is a healthy, fun activity for children where they can learn about science and nature from growing their own food. In this workshop, the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden team will teach your child some new gardening skills.

They will learn:

  • How to make newspaper pots to plant spring seeds
  • The characteristics of a healthy soil
  • How to create a mini greenhouse
  • Propagate softwood herbs

Attendees are required to bring gloves and a pair of scissors, all other materials will be supplied.

 Please note: This class is suitable for children aged 6+ years old and all children attending this workshop will need to be accompanied by an adult who also holds a valid ticket.

Your Presenter

Natasha Grogan has diplomas in horticulture and Steiner education and a Bachelor of Education. With over 20 years experience working with children, Natasha was a garden specialist at two Melbourne primary schools from 2008 to 2012.

In 2013 she started her own small business, a holistic education provider specialising in teaching children to grow organic food and connecting them with nature.

In 2020 Natasha returned to the Foundation and continues to love inspiring children, young people, and educators to grow, harvest, prepare and share

The Location
