Summer fruit tree pruning and espalier training

Sunday 14th January at 11.00am

If you have fruit trees, whether it be 2 or 20, then this is a 'must-do' Workshop!

Pruning in summer has a multitude of benefits, and it is certainly the best time to specifically train your espalier and fan your trees.

Summer pruning is also the easiest way to maintain your fruit tree shape, to then suitably net and protect your precious crops.

Pruning at this time significantly reduces the amount of winter pruning that you will need to do, and most importantly, pruning in summer transfers growth to the fruiting spurs to ultimately improve your ongoing fruit production, instead of encouraging unproductive water growth!

A fabulous Workshop that always sells out fast, so don't delay, get your tickets today!

Presented by Julian Blackhirst.  Julian is the Head Gardener at St Erth, where he is curator of the espalier orchard, the food forest, and the bulb meadows, and he is a highly experienced market gardener and passionate foodie!
