Seed sowing for your best Autumn vegie patch

Sunday 28th January at 11.00am

Why grow from seed you ask?

Because it’s thoroughly rewarding and satisfying, and one of life’s most simple pleasures is to harvest healthy nutritious food that YOU have grown and nurtured right from it's seed beginning.

And, best of all, growing from seed is cheap!

Don’t be intimidated or think you can’t grow from seed, because you CAN!

It’s easy, and we'll show you how, and once you are equipped with a few of the basics, as well as some extra helpful Diggers hints, you'll have a bountiful seed grown harvest on your kitchen table in no time.

Seeds are like little vaults, and to germinate and grow successfully, each one needs a combination of the right conditions, and we'll discuss all of these, including: the correct time to sow, soil temperature, seed sowing depth, moisture, warmth, and also light.

Upon completion of the workshop you'll have all the knowledge you need to grow your own vegetables very cheaply from seed for the rest of your life!

Presented by Jac Semmler. Jac is our Seed Manager at Diggers and is passionate about all things plants and seeds. She is also a qualified Horticulturist with a background in outdoor education and sustainability.
