DAHLIA 'BISHOP OF LLANDAFF'
TENDER PLANT. A striking dahlia with bright-red flowers and dark-purple foliage that
does not need staking or lifting in sandy soils. A wonderful foliage plant
creating a contrast in the garden, the flowers are best suited to hot
coloured gardens and borders. Divide in late winter when leaf buds are
visible.
VELTHEIMIA BRACTEATA
A signature plant at Heronswood where it has naturalised under the deep
shade of the Moreton Bay Fig in our Tropical Garden. Rarely offered in
garden centres, the glorious pink flower spikes appear above glossy
strap-like green leaves in spring. A tough South African that is perfect
for highlighting dry, shaded areas of any garden. Suitable for anywhere
hellebores and clivias thrive.
