Dear Diggers (Winter 2017)

The Opinionated Gardener

Dear Clivekeep at it! The criticism you receive is to be expected by anyone who expresses an opinion or informs the public.

With so many publications printing only what is considered politically correct and avoiding the facts in fear of offending, I appreciate Diggers magazine and its efforts to defend the environment and guide us to productive and sustainable gardening.

With so many educational institutions afraid of debate and politicians who refuse to answer reasonable questions Diggers mag. shines a light in this political correct dark age we shall live to regret.

Keep giving us information about the world seed market and the excesses of corporate food giants, which is difficult to find elsewhere. It is not only food for thought but for action.

Dear DiggersI recently let my Diggers subscription lapse as, like some other members, I’d tired of the relentless political commentary. But after a few months I found

I missed my membership, so I’ve reinstated it.

I like receiving the members’ price on plants and the fun of selecting free seeds or plants a couple of times a year, and free entry to Cloudehill, which is near my home.

I also find the magazine inspiring. Even just browsing through the available plants and seeds inspires me to get out and prepare more areas for planting. I now accept the political commentary as a part of the whole. Like any input we receive, it’s up to each of us to take on board what suits us, and leave the rest.
