Marjoram

Marjoram

An invaluable edible ground cover in hot, dry positions and a popular addition to the kitchen garden or home potager, marjoram comes in many forms for the garden, but almost all see it as a milder, less punchy version of oregano, which many cooks actually prefer.  Mild enough to chop straight into salads, marjoram is best used before it flowers, so keep it at about 10cm high by clipping it over with hedge shears, and harvest often.
