Thatch-roofed cafeAt Heronswood's Fork to Fork café we are striving to work in harmony with nature. Wherever posible, we use fruit and vegetables which are in season, regional and organic. Many of our vegetables are heirloom varieties from the Heronswood garden that you may well have never seen or tasted before, purple carrots or green and yellow tomatoes all dripping with freshness and flavor. By using local growers and producers we support the local economy, using fewer food miles and promoting environmentally sustainable agriculture.

Heronswood PlateOur signature dish is the Heronswood Plate ($30). Up to 12 selections are provided for you to mix and match. The professional front-of-house team are always on hand to assist and explore the menu with you. A range of entree size dishes are also on offer, maybe a caramelized onion & goats cheese tartlet ($16), a house cured ocean trout ($16), hand made linguini with seafood ($22) or a wild mushroom risotto ($19). Fresh bread, scones and muffins are baked every day for morning & afternoon tea.

Omnivore's Winter Feast 2008

Heronswood's chef Luke Palmer

Chef Luke Palmer visits the garden for inspiration. Like designs the menu for the day from what fresh, organic produce is ready to be harvested. It may be freshly harvested chioggia and bulls blood beetroots with horseradish cream, baby fennel & citrus segments or five color silverbeet sautéed with garlic & lemon zest.
